Solidarity on a calm and relaxing sea.
At the extreme east of the Coast of Ceará, Tremembé is a place of extensive nut palm-tree groves, calm sea beaches and a wide strip of white sands. As in the majority of traditional communities located on the coast of northeastern Brazil, the main problems faced by this community are predatory fishing and real estate speculation. There you will find the lodge Pousada Tremembé, an initiative of the Tremembé Association – Italy, to support projects of alternative development in the region and to strengthen the community organization. The Tremembé lodge is managed by Caiçara, a local association that supports new important social projects in the region thanks to the pousada earnings. Caiçara also has the task of involving the local community in its projects; a significant but hard mission, as many people are still trapped in real estate speculation and predatory fisheries. The solidarity visitors that go to this community take good memories with them, get to know a little bit of life in the surroundings, have encounters of tranquility and share the sensation of contributing with valuable initiatives for the human promotion.
